Filed under: Uncategorized — opalclg at 5:58 am on Sunday, September 13, 2009

Hi everyone from  one of my oral language presentations i talked about crocadilians heres some info about them …

crocodiles and aligators belong to a group off reptiles called crocodilians, they are animals with strond jaws and long tails. They live close to water and are found mainly in rivers in hot places. during a period of hot dry weather, crocodiles may burry themselves deep in the mud and go to sleep. The gavial is a type crocodilian with a long thin snout. it has about hundred sharp teeth, which it uses to catch fish and frogs. they can be found in the big rivers of Malaysia,India,Pakistan,Nepal,Bangladesh, and Burma. American aligators  live in the rivers and swamps of southeastern USA. The female alligator is a  caring mother. They carry there newly hatched babies i their mouths to a close pool. These Alligators can grow up to 19 feet..Which is the same as 5.8 meters long.

Thank you

Bye from Opal.

Flowers

Filed under: Uncategorized — opalclg at 12:44 am on Sunday, August 9, 2009

Flowers make seeds that grow into new plants.Male parts of the flower produce pollen grains. When these reach the female parts, they fertilize eggs so they can make seeds. Birds, insects and other animals often help this process by feeding on the flowers  and moving the pollen grains this is called pollination. There are almost  20,000 types of orchid. Their seeds are so light they can be blown  up to 600 miles by the wind. Some trees, such as hazel, have flowers that hang down like loose tassels.
